This article goes mainly for those who are living in "colder" countries where we have winter and were we are unable to windsurf throughout the year.
I think, everybody knows the feeling in spring, when you step up on the board after 3-6 months on land. Everything seems to be very heavy and difficult - you are in bad physical shape. To avoid such feelings and to enjoy every minute on water, you have to train as hard as possible throughout the winter. Lets start.

Windsurfing is a sport where almoust all of your muscles are involved: legs are controlling the board, hands are working on maneuvers and help to hold the sail, core muscles are holding the sail (if you use harness). So you have to train
all muscles (if you will have chest like Arnold Schwarzenegger and legs like Miranda Kerr, - this won't work; by the way you can try opposite :)
Usually when you go out windsurfing you spend more than 1hour on the water so you can consider windsurfing as an endurance sport. And the most important thing in
endurance sports is the effectiveness of your
cardiovascular system - this means how well your lungs can absorb oxygen, then the oxygen goes into your blood and now it is important how well your heart can provide your muscles with blood with oxygen (muscles don't work without oxygen).
